Reviewing both the tech giants and tech startups of the software industry, for the fourth year The Software Report has recognized the top 100 companies that have had a significant impact on their specific domains. Those selected were judged on a range of factors such as product functionality, customer satisfaction, innovation, among others.
In addition, the authoritative tech publication reviews feedback it received from nominations as well as researching a company’s background—that includes publicly available information and insight gleaned from platforms such as Glassdoor, G2, Capterra, and other sources.
Presented in rank order, Alteryx, a leader in the democratization of data analytics, was ranked #1. Founded in 1997 the company’s end to end platform Alteryx Analytics Cloud Platform powers analytics for: data engineering, data prep, analytics, machine learning, geospatial analytics, and AI-driven data storytelling.
The company’s success equation includes 2,600 employees, 8,300 customers globally with top brands IBM and Netflix and a social impact program called Alteryx for Good. Its no-cost analytics education program Alteryx SparkED works with 977 institutions globally that had an 87% YoY increase in 2022 that includes over 140,000 learners in over 50 countries.
Startups and foreign companies were also included in the ranking. Four of the startups founded within the past five years included in the Top 100 are:
37th ranked and Boston based startup Vendr, was founded in 2019 by Ryan Neu. Acting as an extension of a company’s software team, Vendr empowers SaaS buyers globally, saving them time, money, and headaches, becoming a leader in how companies buy and manage SaaS.
Founded in 2017 by CEO John Goulding and CTO Joe Lennon, 42nd ranked Ireland-based Workvivo is driven by a strong desire to improve the working experience for employees worldwide. Their feature-rich employee experience platform combines internal communication, engagement tools, social intranet, and an employee app into a centralized hub.
The HR startup has annual growth exceeding 200%, serving over 3 million users in more than 93 countries, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to tech start-ups.
The agile startup HighLevel ranked 54th is based in Texas was started in 2018 by multiple co-founders. Since its founding the launch of its all-in-one sales and marketing platform has gained over 20,000 clients who are agencies and marketers.
Another HR startup, California-based Remote was founded in 2019 by Job van der Voort and Marcelo Lebre and was ranked 90th. The company’s comprehensive platform facilitates seamless handling of international payroll, benefits, taxes, stock options, and compliance. In four plus years Remote has amassed a workforce of over 3,000 employees that manage full-time and contract workers across more than 50 countries. It has garnered support from notable investors such as SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Accel, Sequoia, Index Ventures, Two Sigma Ventures, General Catalyst, and B Capital.
