Inspired by high rate of local investing done in Silicon Valley, the Texas Entrepreneur Network and Hermes Investment Group have co-founded and launched the Texas Venture Growth Forum to take place from October 7-8, 2015.
By connecting experienced venture capitalists with Texas-based technology companies seeking Series B and Beyond (B+) funding, the conference will carry out its core mission. The hope is that by attracting to this area the necessary funding and support that will accelerate growth of early stage companies, those companies will remain rooted in the area and advance the Texas technology ecosystem.
“We want to attract series B funders to Texas,” says Hall T. Martin, founder and CEO of the Texas Entrepreneur Networks. “We can expose them to our user base and maybe it would cause them to open an office here.”
Venture and private equity funding is just an umbrella for several highlighted topics to be discussed by showcase leaders during the two-day conference. Companies primarily with greater than $5 million in revenue will have an opportunity to attend a series of private one-on-one sessions with venture capitalists, private equity firms, and family offices from across the country.
“There are a lot of first-timers (entrepreneurs) that need education; how you pitch, how to develop the deeper analytics you need for a Series B round,” says Martin. “And the value of getting in front of 15 VCs is a no-brainer” Instead of flying around the country, the can just come down to Austin.”
