Deadline Approaching! From now until August 1st, students, faculty and university researchers can apply to compete for $25,000 in grants and prizes for university research on data and social good. The NYC Media Lab and Bloomberg Data have collaborated to award researchers using data for positive social impact in areas including education, government innovation, public health or climate change. Individuals collaborating with nonprofit organizations or NGOs on data analysis are also encouraged to apply for impact grants to fund a civic cause.
Participating faculty members are eligible to apply for two $7,500 impact grants. Following submission of a detailed summary of current and future nonprofit/NGO partnership plans and the Call for Papers to attend DGX, faculty members will receive an award for nonprofit/NGO collaboration on a data science for good initiative.
All students, faculty and university researchers combined are eligible for prizes to be presented at Bloomberg’s DGX forum in New York City on September 28, 2015. All papers accepted for presentation will be in the running for the following prizes:
- Grand Prize – $5,000
- 1st Prize – $3,000
- Two Runner-Ups – $1,000
