Stanford University’s StartX Accelerator currently seeks startups and established companies in any industry for their summer session. StartX offers mentoring from more than 300 experts, vc’s, and serial entrepreneurs, plus customized education programs to meet applicant’s needs.
Interested companies and founders have until February 11th to submit an application. Each team requires either a Stanford-affiliated founder with a significant stake in the company, or must apply through the invite-only Visiting Founder Program. However, it is noted that non-affiliated companies do not have access to financial support from the Stanford-StartX Fund.
The fund provides assistance to applicable companies, having already funded $140 million to more than 260 StartX companies thanks to partnerships with Stanford University, support from the student government, and other Stanford programs like Stanford Health Care. Because of these same partnerships, StartX requires zero equity and no fees.
The accelerator has two distinct programs, one for “First-time Founders” focused on building a network of peers and mentors for success, and another for “Experienced Entrepreneurs” that surrounds them with tactical help to build up their company. Other specialized programs for students and professors who are currently enrolled or teaching at Stanford are also available.
