One of three summits held annually by Singularity University, the 2017 Exponential Manufacturing Summit, will be held in Boston on May 17th. This year’s summit will focus on the disruptive advances made in eight key areas, and how they are affecting manufacturing today.
Will Weisman, Singularity’s Executive Director of their Summits, stated, “This year we’ll share SU’s unique insight on recent advances in exponential and converging technologies, but we’ll also go deeper than ever before into how these technologies are affecting specific manufacturing functions and the strategic decisions leaders will need to be prepared to make right now.”
The eight areas experiencing dramatic change are machine learning and artificial intelligence, energy, additive manufacturing, bio manufacturing, the Internet of Things, advanced and collaborative robotics, and augmented reality. The summit is intended to not just discuss how these areas are affecting manufacturing, but serve to help attendees understand how to incorporate new ideas to benefit their organizations.
Singularity University is a global community organized around tackling the world’s biggest challenges through an innovation platform that empowers individuals and organizations. In addition to the eight areas, the summit will also host several other topics and speakers, including Google’s Director of Engineering Dr. Ray Kurzweil, Vice President of Reebok Future Bill McInnis, and Chief Responsibility Officer and SVP at Dell Trisa Thompson.
