The Center for Security in Politics with Digimarc announced that on January 22nd it will host with Secretary Janet Napolitano a public forum on “Safeguarding the Development of Artificial Intelligence”. The panel discussion moderated by NBC News Correspondent Jacob Ward will discuss the impact of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) on election security.
As the 2024 election year starts off, the panel will discuss digital content authenticity and misinformation, as well as threats to copyright ownership and intellectual property posed by GenAI. This includes the challenges arising from GenAI’s proliferation and the need for cross-sector collaboration to effectively address the threats posed by the disruptive technology.
The panelists include:
- Sec. Janet Napolitano — Former Secretary, Department of Homeland Security
- Riley McCormack — CEO, Digimarc
- Dr. Hany Farid — Professor, University of California at Berkeley
- Raúl Torrez — Attorney General for the State of New Mexico
Part of the Summit on AI, the forum will be held on January 22nd at the Banatao Auditorium University of California, Berkeley Sutardja Dai Hall at 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm. RSVP to attend here.
