RE/MAX Holdings, Inc. aims to stay ahead of their competitors through an ongoing shift toward exciting innovative technology for real estate. Furthering that goal they announced their acquisition of First, a technology startup that leverages machine learning and data science with human interaction—enabling real estate professionals to leverage the value of their personal networks.
First’s app, which shares their name, is an intelligent coaching platform helping real estate agents identify sellers within their contact networks. It puts focus on who should be reached out to as well as when to reach out, strengthening relationships when it matters most. The acquisition gives RE/MAX agents in America exclusive access to the app at significant discounts in early 2020.
As part of the acquisition, First’s co-founder and current CEO Mike Schneider will continue leading the First team from Durham, North Carolina. He’ll also be working with RE/MAX’s technology leaders on contributions and integrations into the overall RE/MAX technology roadmap. First clients not affiliated with RE/MAX can still use the app until their contract expires or until the end of 2020.
“We’ve seen the impact the First platform has had in growing individual agents’ businesses, and the fact that we’ll now bring it to scale with the RE/MAX Network’s extensive group of agents is motivating,” said Schneider. “The race is on in the industry to establish technology as a true competitive advantage. For us, RE/MAX was the obvious choice given its brand, strategic roadmap, and global leadership position within the industry.”
