TEKsystems, a company providing IT staffing solutions, IT talent management and IT services, released its quarterly IT “Reality Check” survey, revealing current market conditions on the state of spending, skill needs and impact areas, according to a press release.
The survey, representing the views of more than 300 IT leaders as of March, reveals that budget expectations and confidence levels remain fairly unchanged since its year end annual report. The percentage of IT leaders expecting budget increases or decreases each decreased 2 percent, while those who reported their budgets to “stay the same” increased by 4 percent.
Security rose to the top spot as “most difficult roles to rill with exceptional talent,” while mobile jumped to no. 8 from no. 11 and architects and business analysts both dropped several spots.
Expectations for increases in hiring full-time employees increased 5 percent, with the percentage of IT leaders expecting full-time hiring to stay the same decreased 4 percent. A 15 percent gain in IT leaders expecting contingent hiring to increase shifted from IT leaders expecting contingent hiring to remain the same and leaders who expected contingent hiring to decrease.
The survey”s findings are similar to last year”s first quarter survey, showing that most IT leaders are not seeing much change in budget expectations, confidence, impact areas or difficult in securing skill sets, according to the survey.
