The program will develop the leadership skills of small business owners and executives to help their small businesses achieve business growth.
Ohio’s small business community received a big boost this week with the announcement that JobsOhio and nonprofit Aileron are partnering. Together they are launching a new small business program helping owners, presidents, and CEOs of B2B organizations.
The twelve-month program will focus on leadership skills that further companies’ growth. It will blend in-person and virtual events, facilitated by Aileron, founded by the late Dayton-area leader and philanthropist Clay Mathile. Aileron’s mission is to elevate owners, leaders, and teams and to build an organization-wide system that creates sustainable change and drives lasting results.
Lt. Governor John Husted commented on the crucial role of local small businesses.
“Small businesses are important to local communities because they are innovative and respond more nimbly to local needs – plus, the money spent in small businesses is more likely to benefit the local economy,” said Husted. “This program will build more successful small businesses leading to stronger, more prosperous communities across Ohio.”
The inaugural program will have a cohort of 25 businesses previously receiving JobsOhio incentives. JobsOhio’s previous and current client companies can apply, if interested. They will be notified of their selection in August before the program’s start date of Sept. 24, 2024.
“This program not only empowers small businesses’ ability to expand, it also honors the enduring legacy of Clay Mathile, whose bold, visionary, and unselfish commitment to Ohio’s economic growth continues to positively impact communities statewide,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef.
