Thanks to a $1 million donation from NYU Stern School of Business Alumnus David Ko and his wife Jennifer, the school announced the establishment of the NYU Stern Venture Fellows Program.
Instead of a typical summer internship, the program provides MBAs with financial support, entrepreneurial mentorship and, perhaps most importantly, access to NYC and Silicon Valley tech companies.
The program will open next summer, and Stern Venture Fellows will receive a $10,000 stipend, a prototyping fee, workspace and access to a summer program that features a “Silicon Valley Immersion Week.” Afterward, fellows will receive continued support into their second year and can earn course credit by further developing their startup.
David Ko, Stern alumnus and president of digital health company Rally Health, said he’s thrilled to help the fellows transform their ideas into viable businesses.
“My goal is to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with early, firsthand access to leaders in the Silicon Valley and Silicon Alley tech communities and help them get a jumpstart,” said Ko.
