The technical professional organization IEEE, recognizing the interconnectivity that the internet is bringing to almost every aspect of people’s lives, announced on August 23rd that it will be holding its 3rd Annual World Forum on Internet of Things (WF-IoT) on December 12-14, 2016 in Reston, VA.

Prominent speakers such as Dr. Vinton G. Cerf, regarded as one of the fathers of the internet and co-inventor of the TCP/IP, will be speaking at the conference about the chosen topic of: Smart Innovation for Vibrant Ecosystems

“IoT and cyber-physical systems are rapidly evolving and deserve substantial attention to assure safety, reliability, privacy, security, and interoperability. There is plenty of work here for everyone,” stated Cerf in the press release for the event.

The event draws international attendees representing industry, academics, and government. All gather as “experts, practitioners, implementers, researchers, and students to learn from and teach each other, to discuss and generate ideas and solutions,” said Geoff Mulligan, the current general chair of WF-IoT who created 6LoWPAN.

Registration online is open until November 12th.
