The NYC Media Lab announced on August 17th that their annual NYCML’17 Summit is open for registration, with the event taking place on September 28th. The summit gathers the best talent, projects, and thinking in the media field from local and distant universities, with this year’s summit focusing on data science in media as well as virtual and augmented reality.
Connecting Manhattan’s universities with technology and digital media companies, the NYC Media Lab furthers the development of talent, entrepreneurship, and innovation in New York City. The NYC Media Lab works with startups through an early-stage accelerator as well as directly funding prototype projects that promote collaboration within technology and media disciples.
The annual summit features over 100 technology and media projects with a pavilion for VR and AR, and offers discussions and keynote speeches exploring how civic engagement and technology interact. Startups and established companies also have opportunities to pitch their applications for new technology and media products or ideas.
Once the summit concludes, more than a dozen workshops led by the community and NYCML faculty members take place at various offices, campuses, and accelerators across New York City on September 29th.
