Highlighting the advancements that New Jersey’s life science community have made to improving medical practices, the Third Annual New Jersey Life Sciences Week will kicks off today, holding events from April 20-24 to showcase the talents within and raise awareness on the life sciences industry.
This week of events is aimed to inspire individuals with an interest in life sciences, featuring events and activities ranging from career fairs, workshops, networking events and giveaways. In addition to gathering life science professionals and patients, this week links the academic and real world of life sciences by involving educators and students ranging from middle school to college graduates in the growth of New Jersey’s Life Science community.
Day 1: As a kickoff event for Rutgers students on April 20, the university will hold the Rutgers Interdisciplinary Job Opportunities for Biomedical Scientists (iJOBS) First Annual Symposium on April 20.
Day 2: Day two, April 21, will consist of the “Career/Connection Job Fair” at Rutgers University and Part I of “Doing Deals, Funding & More” in New Brunswick.
“Doing Deals, Funding & More” is a two-day program focused on business development topics including VC Campaigns, presentations, business pitches, building a company, and more.
Day 3: On Wednesday, April 22, Mercer Community College will hold the kick-off meeting for the Clinical Development Advisory Group of the Mercer County Community College Clinical Development Program.
Along with Part II of “Doing Deals, Funding & More”, an event titled “Moment of Hope” will be held in honor of patients.
Day 4: On April 23, The Life Sciences Talent Network will sponsor “A Day with Students2Science”, a one-day program for students at East Hanover Middle School.
Day four will also feature The BioHub Networking Mixer to be held at LaQuinta Inn.
Day 5: The final day of the weel will include an event titled “The Secret Sauce to Getting Hired” with free registration for industry job seekers.
The week will conclude with “BioP on the Road to BIO 2015” as the final event held at the BioNJ Headquarters in Trenton.
