Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurship hosted its 22nd Annual Awards Luncheon and Ceremony for recipients of the 2014 New Jersey Family Business of the Year Awards on Wednesday, October 15th, 2014 at the Crystal Plaza in Livingston. The awards recognized exceptional family-owned businesses that have also contributed to their community.
Recipients of the awards were chosen from two categories of family-owned businesses with annual revenues either up to $10 million or over $10 million. Finalist
Giambri’s Quality Sweets in Clementon was selected as category winner of the up to $10 million group. Both finalist and semi-finalists were invited to celebratory luncheon and ceremony. This included Montclair’s Mesob Ethiopian Restaurant, another finalist; Bornstein Sons, Inc. in Fairfield; Flynn and Son Funeral Homes in Fords/Edison; Perth Amboy and Metuchen; G&G Realtors in Oakhurst; McRae Capital Management, Inc., I Morristown; and Things 4 Strings in Livingston.
The finalist and category-winning awardee of the over $10 million group was Ski Barn in Paramus. The finalist and semi-finalists who attended the luncheon and ceremony were: finalist Elberon Development Group in Cranford; and semi-finalists: Allen & Stults Company, Inc. in Hightstown; Gibraltar Laboratories, Inc. in Fairfield; Jack Daniels Motors in Upper Saddle River; My Limo in East Hanover; and Wine Chateau in Metuchen.
FDU’s Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurship supports the growth of businesses by offering a range entrepreneurial focused educational training programs. The programs are geared toward entrepreneur students, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations. The programs are offered at local, regional, and even global levels.
