New Jersey ranks as the 34th best state for business, according to the latest rankings of America’s best states for business released by CNBC this week.  New York checks in as the 29th best state for business  while neighboring Pennsylvania ranks one spot lower than New Jersey at 33.

The rankings were compiled using public data and input from a variety of business experts, government sources, the CNBC Global CFO Council, and the 50 states.  Each state receives points in 10 general categories which are weighted differently for each state depending on how often they are used as selling points in state business.

According to CNBC’s rankings, Utah is the best state in the United States for business, while Rhode Island ranks last.
