The New York City Department of Small Business Services, the NYC Economic Development Corporation, and NYC Business Assistance Corporation have announced that the Neighborhood Challenge 5.0 is open for applicants.

The NYC Department of Small Business services is focused on creating thriving New York City neighborhoods, stronger businesses, and the availability of quality jobs for New Yorkers.

The Neighborhood Challenge 5.0 will award up to $100,000 to teams who create technology tools to address issues and challenges faced by Manhattan’s commercial districts.

Teams looking to apply must have a nonprofit organization targeting a single commercial district or neighborhood within New York City, as well as a tech company.

The competition has a list of items that proposed projects should measure, assess, or address, including quality of life conditions, district maintenance and sanitation, energy efficiency and sustainability, as well as several others.
