The company’s AI agents streamline clients’ human resources workflows, enhance data-driven decision-making, and drive organizational impact.

With major global companies like BNP Paribas, PwC, Deloitte, FIFA, Abercrombie, and Capgemini in its fold, Maki is accelerating the use of its AI agents throughout companies’ human resources. Its conversational AI agents are transforming how organizations recruit and manage talent.

“Our mission is to give human resources more-than-human powers, as we believe the future lies in a powerful mix of human ingenuity and AI-driven intelligence. Our agents don’t just assist—they do the work, enabling teams to focus on strategic priorities, unlock creativity, and drive meaningful organizational impact,” said Maxime Legardez, co-founder and CEO of Maki.

With the announcement of its $28.6 million Series A funding round led by Blossom Capital, Maki intends to accelerate its product development and deepen its commitment to redefining HR practices. The funding will also fuel Maki’s expansion into the U.S. market, representing 30% of its business. As part of this effort, Legardez will relocate to New York City from the company’s headquarters in Paris to establish a U.S. hub and spearhead growth strategy.

“The U.S. is the world’s most dynamic HR market and the most forward-thinking in adopting AI to drive efficiency and impact. By expanding to New York City, we’re doubling down on this opportunity to help enterprises redefine how they hire and manage talent,” said Legardez.

Founded in 2021 by Legardez and Benjamin Chino – CPO, Maki established in two short years its mission to harness the power of conversational AI to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and overall experience of talent acquisition. Maki’s cutting-edge AI agents enable companies to successfully tackle some of the most pressing HR challenges, including automating screening and interviewing processes, improving candidate experiences, reducing time-to-hire, and lowering employee turnover.

The startup’s results caught investors’ attention—with the company reaching 80% automation of screening and interviews, a 3x reduction in time-to-hire, and a 20% decrease in turnover. This led to millions of dollars in efficiency gains for its clients.

As with so many other AI startups, AI agents are driving Maki’s model to transform HR, specifically talent recruitment and management. The agents automate mundane and labor-intensive tasks and processes such as screening, interviewing, and scheduling. HR teams can then better focus on high-value, strategic decision-making, impacting organizations’ productivity and success.

Maki’s conversational AI agents are integrated into a company’s existing HR workflows, interacting with candidates via voice, video, and text. They can adapt to each individual’s unique profile to give personalized interactions that are fully customizable. Clients can tailor the AI’s tone of voice approach, and operational processes to suit their brand and specific needs.

With funding in place, Maki is confident of its mission to make AI the central engine of its talent intelligence platform. AI is not just improving existing processes; AI-powered agents actively centralize and optimize cumbersome workflows to fit well into the company’s overall business goals. HR is transformed from a passive, reactive function into a proactive one, a strategic force that helps organizations unlock their full potential.

The successful closing of its Series A funding enables Maki to accelerate its product strategies, enhancing its candidate filtering, interviewing, scheduling, and sourcing capabilities. Companies will be able to customize their AI agents even further—adapting them to specific business needs, workflows, and organizational goals.

Ophelia Brown, Partner at Blossom Capital, shared her enthusiasm, stating, “From the moment we met Max and the Maki team, we were impressed by their vision, the strength of the product, and the outstanding metrics they’ve achieved in such a short time. We believe Maki’s agents have the potential to enable large organizations to reach the next level of efficiency and decision-making, redefining how HR drives business success.”

Maki’s AI’s cutting-edge conversational AI technology is laying the foundation for a new era in HR—one where human ingenuity and AI innovation work together to unlock the workforce’s full potential.

With its recent funding success and global expansion plans, Maki’s growth will continue, as it offers businesses the opportunity to embrace a future of more intelligent, more efficient, and more strategic talent management.
