Mad Rabbit Tattoo

Aspiring entrepreneurs are always told to pursue their passion.  So co-founders Oliver Zak and Selom Agbitor took that to heart. In 2019 the two friends launched Mad Rabbit Tattoo based on their passion for ink that motivated them to create a superior natural solution for maintaining tattoos.  They observed that current products were ineffective and were not all-natural—two elements they believe are important to proud tattoo wearers.

Seeking to eliminate all unnatural and processed ingredients in existing tattoo aftercare products, the two dorm room entrepreneurs developed a simple, effective, and skin-friendly tattoo balm. Upon receiving an immediate and great user response, they expanded to a full line of products for tattoo maintenance that includes an SPF 30 sunscreen and a soothing gel.

In addition to high profile entrepreneur and investor Mark Cuban, the Mad Rabbit Tattoo founders are excited to have the support of Acronym Venture Capital and Joshua B. Seigel, a team responsible for investing in some of the most prominent consumer brands.

“Acronym Venture Capital looks to invest in strong, founder led brands that are defining consumer categories. In Mad Rabbit, we saw a team that intimately understands the tattoo culture and community and can become the category leader,” said Joshua Siegel, General Partner of Acronym Venture Capital.

Mad Rabbit has now evolved into a lifestyle brand and there is great anticipation about what is to come. They continue to focus on its positioning to have a deep connection with tattoo consumers, both new and old. To do this they have focused on compelling content and storytelling, giving their brand a strong social media presence among a diverse community of tattoo enthusiasts.

The fast moving startup launched a series entitled, ‘Spilling Ink,’ featuring in-depth stories of professional athletes like U.S. Women’s National Team’s goalkeeper, Ashlyn Harris, and U.S. Olympian Swimmer, Caeleb Dressel.

“Alongside the support and guidance of our investors, we look forward to reaching a larger, more inclusive community of tattooed consumers with our products. Our vision for the brand is that it will someday extend far beyond skincare.” concludes Oliver Zak, Co-Founder of Mad Rabbit.

Now having $2 million from their seed raise, the startup plans to expand its experiential lifestyle brand and optimize its product offerings, manufacturing, and operations, and marketing efforts.

“We are thrilled to begin the next chapter of our journey along with our new strategic investors.” said Agbitor.“Together, we will continue to build a multi-channel experiential brand that will elevate our offerings in the tattoo aftercare market ultimately helping people express their individuality and maintain their body art.”
