For the third consecutive year the Luminate Accelerator is hosting its startup competition in which $2 million will be awarded to the winners of its pitch competition. Startups in its cohort represent a range of high-tech industries that includes augmented reality, eyecare, waterway monitoring, among others.
Startups will show their technologies on stage in downtown Rochester at The Theater at Innovation Square on September 27th. A range of awards will be made including the grand prize of $1 million and $10,000 awarded via live voting for Audience Choice Award.
Liz Rogan, CEO of event sponsor Optica, will kick off the big event that draws in entrepreneurs, investors and innovators from the upstate New York region.
Luminate is funded by New York State, spurring innovation in the areas of optics, photonics, and imaging (OPI) enabled companies. Entrepreneurs solving challenging problems may become cohort members working in machine vision, inspection, bio-photonics, security, surveillance, augmented & virtual reality, and autonomous vehicles. Luminate is a program of NextCorps.
Attendance at the finals is free. However, there is limited seating at the event location. Register here.
