The 3rd Annual Startup302 competition, Delaware’s premier funding contest for technology and tech-enabled startups led by underrepresented founders, is holding its finals tomorrow, April 27th.
Hosted by Delaware Prosperity Partnership, fifteen finalists from Delaware and surrounding states are competing for a share of $215,000 in non-dilutive funding and other awards with winning ventures receiving up to $20,000 in grants along with mentorship and other support. Startup302 categories and finalists are:
Clean, Green and Blue – Ecotone Renewables (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), Frontline Waste Holding (Delray Beach, Florida) and New Breed Meats (Atlanta, Georgia);
Delaware Tech-Enabled – College Essay App (Bethany Beach, Delaware), Rush Roto Studio (Dover, Delaware) and Toivoa (Wilmington, Delaware);
Early Stage – BASEstud.io (Los Angeles, California); MiraHeart (Baltimore, Maryland) and SomnOSA (Baltimore, Maryland);
FinTech – Fleri (Columbus, Ohio), KidVestors® (Louisville, Kentucky) and Stakana (Seattle, Washington); and
Life Sciences – GelSana (Boulder, Colorado), MyoGene Bio (San Diego, California) and ReHeva BioSciences (Dublin, Ohio).
The Pitching event is being held at Theatre N, Nemours Building, 1007 Orange St., Wilmington, Delaware, with registration opening at 8:15 am and pitches beginning at 9:10 am.
The morning agenda continues with a panel discussion with: Troy Farmer, Delaware State University’s Garage Maker Space; Mark Crawford, NEVA SGR; Holly Flanagan, Gabriel Investments; Lauren Graupman, AE Industrial, Partners; Martin Hunt, Swanlaab USA Ventures; and James Massaquoi, Osage Venture Partners.
The keynote address given by Sylvester Mobley of Plain Sight Capital and Coded by Kids follows and most importantly, the presentation of awards will be made prior to the luncheon. Admission and lunch are complementary and open to the public.
