Global investment firm KKR continues its thematic focus on Lifelong Learning with an investment into the Vietnam-based EQuest Education Group. With Vietnam’s growing middle-class and rising demand for better education, EQuest’s K-12 portfolio with support from KKR places the company among the largest private educational service providers in the country.

KKR maintains a strong focus on generating risk-adjusted returns on investments made into companies contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The Vietnamese government is committed to improving education, giving EQuest an opportunity to strongly compete in the educational market.

EQuest focuses on bilingual schools, English enrichment courses, digital learning solutions, as well as tertiary and vocational institutions. English is an especially important language to learn and aligns with Vietnam’s national education strategy of following globalization trends. The company currently serves more than 9,000 enrolled students across its 8 campuses with more than 110,000 students enrolled across its segments each year.

“We believe lifelong learning starts at an early age and EQuest is supporting the development of the next generation through its high-quality affordable education programs with strong outcomes,” said Chee-Wei Wong, Head of KKR Global Impact for Asia. ”KKR aims to leverage our operational experience, global network and education expertise to strengthen EQuest’s market-leading position, further build on its edtech solutions, and implement industry best practices. We look forward to working together with EQuest’s management team to advance the company’s mission and expand the reach of its impact across Vietnam.”
