Keiretsu Forum is a worldwide community of accredited angel investors, venture capitalists, and corporate/institutional investors. Founded in 2000 in San Francisco by Randy Williams, the organization has grown to become a global network with 46 chapters spread across 3 continents.
Keiretsu’s stated mission is “great association with quality deal flow”. Stressing synergies among a range of affiliates worldwide, the investment focus is on “emerging technologies, healthcare and life sciences, consumer products, real estate and other segments with high growth opportunity,” according to its web site. The forum provides early-stage capital typically between $250 thousand to $2 million through its members who make individual investment decisions.
Keiretsu’s affiliates include Keiretsu Capital and Keiretsu Squared. Keiretsu Capital which was founded in 2013, is devoted to building relationships between angels, institutional investors, and portfolio companies. The three objectives of Keiretsu Capital is to provide access to propriety deal flow, increase company value, and create liquidity.
Keiretsu Squared’s mission is to “radically accelerate a company’s path to market growth and liquidity.” This is done via three core programs that: create alignment between investors and team members, assist executives from around the world to launch their products, as well as new company divisions of their companies in the U.S and bolstering management teams in their challenges with limited time bandwidth and balancing expertise and capital.
Keiretsu Forum also holds an event called the Angel Capital Expo that is held in regions around the US. The expo is a gathering of investors and entrepreneurs from all over the country and world whom want to network and seek funding. The Forum’s calendar shows both dates of the Expos and the meetings of local chapters.
