Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) and AT&T announced three innovative Internet of Things (IoT) solutions for businesses at the recent AWS re:Invent 2017 Conference that will enable enterprise customers to more easily manage large numbers of devices worldwide.

Vice President for Internet of Things Solutions at AT&T Mike Troiano stated that, “We’re pleased to build upon our longstanding relationship with AWS to deliver these new features to business customers through the IoT and cloud.”

This collaborative endeavor between AWS and AT&T produced a new cellular LTE-M Button leveraging AT&T’s LTE-M network and AWS’ IoT 1-Click service, allowing for submission of service requests or ordering office supplies through a single button press. The service functions without Wi-Fi, and allows for integrating operations and workflow into other solutions offered by AWS like Amazon SNS or AWS Lambda.

Building upon the ongoing AWS collaboration and complementing the AT&T IoT Starter kit announced earlier in the year, AT&T also detailed the upcoming launch of an IoT OBDII kit. The OBDII kit gives AWS customers access to AT&T’s Asset Management Operations Center (AMOC), allowing the monitoring of enterprise assets, vehicles, and equipment through AWS as a packaged system.

The last technology announced is a product of AT&T working with G+D Mobile Security, enabling manufacturers to manage and update certificates over the air and remotely downloading new ones for higher security. AMOC and the IoT OBDII kit are launching through AT&T IoT Marketplace, while the IoT Starter kit is available directly through amazon.com.
