RealWear’s approach to industrial wearable technology was said to be “unlike anything offered by the competition,” according to Frost & Sullivan’s review.

“This award from Frost & Sullivan is validation of our design process to engineer a hands-free device platform that specifically targets the safety and ergonomic needs of industrial workers in challenging work environments,” said RealWear’s CEO, Andy Lowery. “Transforming how industrial work gets done, the HMT-1 delivers on the promise of productivity from the Internet of Things.”

The report on RealWear, also addresses the challenges in commercializing industrial wearables, stating that it requires both user-friendly software and high-performance hardware working perfectly together. The HMT-1 features both, with a completely hands-free interface bringing streamlined inspections, maintenance and assembly instructions, industrial IoT data visualization, technical documentation, and video collaboration to workers.
