In a major step to expand its mission, Princeton-based nonprofit ETS, the educational and research and assessment services company, announced their commitment to provide support for the education startup community. ETS in collaboration with LearnLaunch Accelerator will expand the edtech ecosystem by providing both funding and industry leading support and expertise.
“Our research has always supported innovation and informed education policy. The marriage of ETS’s research-driven portfolio and LearnLaunch’s agile startups can create a world of new possibilities for using technology to achieve better educational outcomes,” said Scott Weaver, ETS’s Chief Strategy Officer in a press announcement.
LearnLaunch Accelerator has a global track record in working with startup and early stage edtech companies. It is now accepting applications through June 10th, and its next cohort will receive substantially more resources as a result of their collaboration with ETS. This includes ETS’s Richard Varn, a Distinguished Presidential Appointee, joining the accelerator as a Venture Partner.
Boston-based LearnLaunch supports the education technology ecosystem to drive innovation and transform learning. In addition to the accelerator, LearnLaunch has LearnLaunch Campus, a co-working space dedicated to edtech startups and LearnLaunch Institute, a non-profit focused on improving student achievement through the adoption of digital technologies.
ETS’s new approach is seen as another avenue for the nonprofit to positively impact the future of education. Their engagement with LearnLaunch will facilitate ETS’s desire to anticipate changing educational needs and evolving market needs that in turn will further their services to partners in education.
“We’re excited to partner with ETS on what we believe is the future of edtech acceleration,” said Jean Hammond, Co-Founder and General Partner of LearnLaunch Accelerator. “Our goal is to promote the growth and development of the edtech sector and this partnership further enables us to expand our domain expertise and offer really unique support to our entrepreneurs.”
