On April 4th the 2019 Edison Awards winners, a prestigious group of innovative individuals in business, were announced and celebrated at a Gala held in New York City. The event brought together more than 500 senior executives and their guests from nations around the world to recognize Innovative product and services in a range of industries including AI, robotics, medical, and social innovation.
More than 3,000 leading business executives including past award winners, academics, and professional leaders were involved in the judging nominees for the Awards. Following the Gala, attendees had the opportunity to meet the innovators and attend the Innovators Showcase which featured a hands-on experience with many of the winning products.
Ginni Rometty, Chairman, President, and CEO of IBM was presented the Edison Achievement Award, a prestigious recognition of innovation leaders and business executives who have made a significant and last contribution throughout their career. IBM won a Gold Award in next generation computing for their new IBM Quantum technology.
“After 32 years, it never ceases to amaze us how innovations that we could only dream about become our reality. Once again, the winners created innovations that are revolutionizing industries and becoming indispensable,” said Frank Bonafilia, executive director of the Edison Awards.
