Funding to date has included top venture capital firms and tech companies that are supporting the platform’s North American growth and the acceleration of its AI Innovation.
Darwinbox, an AI-driven Human Capital Management (HCM) platform, has secured US$40 million from Teachers’ Venture Growth (TVG), the late-stage venture and growth arm of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.
The funding supports Darwinbox’s goal of driving AI innovation and expanding its presence in North America. It follows Darwinbox’s US$140 million round of March 2025, led by Partners Group and KKR, with additional participants: Microsoft, Salesforce, Peak XV, Lightspeed, and TCV.
“We are pleased to partner with an exceptional team that has built and scaled Darwinbox into a leading HR technology company,” said Darius Vakil, Director of TVG in India. “With an easily customizable, AI-powered full-stack offering and customer centricity at its core, Darwinbox continues to drive impressive adoption across large enterprises globally.”
North America: The Next Growth Frontier
Darwinbox’s growth in North America reflects changes in the enterprise HR technology market. Since entering the region, the company has tripled its year-on-year growth and secured contracts with prominent organizations, including EXL, Virtusa, Orion Innovation, Apollo.io, Nivea, Zara, Starbucks, Adidas, among others.
“HR tech, done right, unlocks value for every enterprise,” said Jayant Paleti, Co-Founder of Darwinbox. “Old HCM vendors still fall short. Darwinbox exists to change that—global by design, AI-first at its core, and focused on customer outcomes.”
Leading the Charge in Agentic AI for HR
Darwinbox is shaping, not just following, the AI trend. It is the first Human Capital Management (HCM) suite to support the Model Context Protocol (MCP), a standard that allows AI agents to interact securely with Darwinbox systems.
This enables automated, context-aware HR workflows—covering everything from recruitment to performance management—while maintaining data security.
Agentic AI—autonomous AI agents that execute complex tasks—is poised to transform enterprise talent management. By embedding this, Darwinbox moves HR tech from static processing to dynamic, decision-making systems that proactively enhance workforce productivity. ProAgentic AI, which enables autonomous agents to execute complex tasks, is expected to transform enterprise talent management.
By integrating this technology, Darwinbox aims to shift HR systems from static processing to dynamic, decision-making platforms that improve productivity and employee experience.
It is the youngest HCM suite listed on Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Cloud HCM Suites. The company was also named a Customer’s Choice HCM for the fourth consecutive year in Gartner’s Peer Insights™ Voice of Customer report, with ratings exceeding those of many established competitors.
Analysts consistently praise Darwinbox’s broad functionality, strong user experience, and rapid innovation, especially in AI, making it a top choice for large-scale digital HR transformations.
A Global Vision for the Future of Work
Founded in 2015, Darwinbox was built as a cloud-based, AI-driven HCM platform to manage the entire employee lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding to payroll, engagement, and performance management. Its focus on flexibility, customization, and intuitive design makes it a preferred choice for organizations modernizing HR without legacy constraints.
The company is expanding in the US, Southeast Asia, and MENA (Middle East and North Africa), cementing its global reach.
The new TVG investment will further accelerate market expansion and R&D in AI capabilities, keeping Darwinbox at the forefront of HR technology innovation.
A Defining Moment for AI-First HR
The Darwinbox–TVG partnership marks a significant shift in how enterprises will manage human capital over the next decade. By uniting agentic AI with global expansion, Darwinbox aims to challenge legacy HR and talent management leaders and redefine the workforce.
The Darwinbox–TVG partnership represents more than a financial investment. By combining agentic AI with global expansion, Darwinbox aims to challenge established HCM providers and redefine workforce management, leading the future of work.
