Thanks to a partnership between career platform WayUp and popular energy drink Red Bull, America’s best interns have the chance to be honored through the first annual WayUp Intern 100 List.
Developed in tandem with National Intern Day on July 26th, the winning 100 nominees receive national recognition, personal bragging rights, and a one year supply of Red Bull Energy Drink. The top 10 nominees will be given a Red Ball swag, but most importantly, the Intern of the Year and a friend will be given a VIP Festival Experience at Austin City Limits.
“I’m thrilled to be creating an accolade for college interns – some of the hardest working and most underappreciated members of the American workforce – to help them stand out to employers and give them confidence early-on in their career,” said WayUp CEO Liz Wessel in a press statement. “As a brand that gives wings to college students, Red Bull is the perfect partner to support National Intern Day, a moment that truly gives Interns the recognition and reward they deserve.”
Nominees must be enrolled in a four or five-year undergraduate degree program, and be in a current internship or have completed one in 2018. They will be evaluated on a range of criteria that includes: the quality of their overall performance and work ethic, how they contributed to projects in team-oriented and solo settings, any new skills or abilities learned, and how the intern is likely to apply their internship experience in the future.
Nominations are open until July 30th.
The selection process is based 30% on public vote conducted via the National Intern Day web site and 70% by a judging panel. Winners will be announced on August 6th.
