Venture for America (VFA) has set December 19th as a day of celebration, marking the end of their 3rd Accelerator with a Demo Day to introduce their cohort of startups, followed by a holiday reception at the iconic Studio 8H at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City.  The event will be hosted by Comcast NBC-Universal.

The Demo Day’s pitch competition will be judged by highly notable panelists that includes: Dave Gilboa, Co-Founder & Co-CEO of Warby Parker, Alexandra Wilkis Wilson, Co-Founder of Gilt.com, Glamsquad, Fitz, David Liu, Chairman and Co-Founder of XO Group and Kai Bond, Principal at Comcast Ventures.

The $10,000 in prizes will be voted upon by both the judges and the audience.  Six fellow-founded companies will be showcased, presenting the end product of three months of hard work.

VFA’s mission is to create economic opportunity in American cities through the deployment of recent college graduates (aka fellows) who have a passion for entrepreneurship. VFA fellows receive training and then are placed in startups and early stage companies to gain firsthand entrepreneurial experience.

Founded by Andrew Yang and now headed by Amy Nelson, VFA also helps those fellows who choose the pivotal step of starting their own companies.  Through VFA’s training and mentoring, the future entrepreneurial leaders hone their startup skills, in addition to receiving key resources.

Applications for the Venture for America 2018 Fellowship are being accepted through November 27th.
