CES ® 2016 kicks off this week, January 6 to 9, in Las Vegas with a growing focus on startups and innovation. The Eureka Park Marketplace, presented by the National Science Foundation and Techstars and located within CES®, will host over 500 startups, a significant increase from the 375 startup exhibitors of the prior year.

CES is produced by the trade organization Consumer Technology Association (CTA) – formerly the Consumer Electronics Association – and it brings together from around the world the businesses that focus on consumer technology.   CTA touts CES as the “world’s gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technology.”

Eureka Park provides startups with the opportunity to launch new products and services.  Having grown by over 400 per cent since 2012, it now serves as a place for innovation to be discovered and important new relationships begun.  The exhibiting startups come from over 29 countries with approximately half being international.  Attendees will also be able to review industry verticals such as: wearables, smart home, health and sports tech, 3D printing, audio and video and virtual reality.

In addition, the University Innovations Marketplace that is located within Eureka Park will unveil innovations from 11 leading U.S. educational institutions that includes Case Western Reserve University, MIT, Purdue Research Foundation and University of Michigan.

More than 3,600 exhibitors are participating in CES ® 2016 and notable speakers include:  Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, Youtube Chief Business Officer Robert Kyncl, General Motors CEO Mary T. Barra, among others.
