Burst, a mobile video technology company, was selected as a winner in EVS’ C-Cast APPlied Challenge, according to a press release.

EVS, a manufacturer of digital video production systems, named Burst for its development of a “second-screen” experience that uses EVS’s C-Cast content distribution platform, which allows users to capture video and send content to broadcast TV, digital sites, and social media channels.

Others named as winners in the C-Cast APPlied Challenge include Chirpvision, Intellicore and LiveLike. The contest aims to develop a new partnership “ecosystem” that connects live broadcast and broadcasters, content owners and producers to C-Cast application designers and integrators for opening new business opportunities.

Burst’s platform serves as a solution to problems experienced by broadcasters, namely the collection, management, integration and distribution of content, according to the press release. The winning platform allows audiences to capture and upload videos to media outlets, negating the need for users to download a mobile app. This enables broadcasters and audiences to interact with ease.
