Over 400 accomplished leaders in the financial world gathered on April 8 for an awards ceremony and a night of networking amongst the members of the fintech community. Held at the Tribeca Three Sixty, a modern venue with an immaculate view of Manhattan, the Benzinga Fintech Awards Galacelebrated the most innovative companies that are enhancing wealth creation in capital markets.

The award nominees were viewed by a panel of judges featuring Steve Ehrlich, the CEO of Honos Financial; Andrew Ackerman, the Managing Director of DreamIt New York; Josh Brown, the CEO of Ritholtz wealth management and others.

The top competitors were awarded Best in Class for innovative ideas within several main categories including “Creating Proprietary Data”, “Stock or Option Screeners”, “Analysis Tools”, “Robo Advisor Tool” and “Alternative Investment”. Companies were also awarded in special categories like “Best Enterprise Solution”, “Founder of the Year”, “Most Promising Startup” and “Most Disruptive”.

In addition to the announcement of categorical winners, the award show gave additional awards to three overall winners with up to five million Ad Impressions and a license for up to a full year to the Benzinga Pro Real-Time News & Data Feed.

The first place award was given to HedgeCoVest, a Florida-based company that provides a hedge fund Replicazor service, allowing investors to duplicate hedge funds from their brokerage account into a client’s account and make a trade in less than a second.

GovBrain, created in Washington DC, won second place for its artificial intelligence machine that predicts the price move of each stock by searching worldwide government websites and linking the retrieved information to a stock, bond, currency or commodity.

The third place winner, Capital Market Labs – based in Los Angeles, is improving the process of investment decision-making with a software that combines financial statements into one large statement, providing instant comparisons.

Aside from the award ceremony, the event featured an exposition hall where attendees viewed demos of innovation products while enjoying hors d’oeuvre and an open bar, ending the night with networking and conversation.
