Rantnetwork announced today it has entered into a major contract with SoftBank for its OPI Translate mobile translation/live interpretation app platform in support of SoftBank’s recent Sprint acquisition. Contract also includes document translation and transcription services.

Bloomsburg, Pa and Tokyo, Japan (12/1/14) – After an extensive six month evaluation and series of trials, SoftBank, one of the world’s largest telecommunications and internet companies, selected Rantnetwork to meet its language services needs. Following its recent purchase of Sprint and subsequent relocation of employees from Japan to the United States, SoftBank determined that RantNetwork’s mobile app OPI Translate best met its global bilingual communications needs.

OPI Translate provide advanced translation features such as Voice-to-Voice, Photo Image Recognition/Translation and Text-to-Speech features coupled with on-demand one-button access to live interpreters 24/7/ 365 days a year in 220 foreign languages. OPI Translate’s network consists of over 7,000 certified interpreters with financial, technical, medical and legal domain expertise.

Services provided to SoftBank under the contract will include on-demand mobile access to live interpreters for on-site and third party conference calls; a private dedicated line for Japanese interpreters and conference call reservations; transcriptions of interpreter calls in actual languages spoken; and large and small content document translation.
