Healthcare innovators have until September 1st to apply for the Accenture HealthTech Innovation Challenge, a competition seeking to provide solutions for the globe’s largest healthcare challenges. Combining emerging disruptors and innovators with health and life sciences companies, the winners in each category gain access and exposure to

established, leading companies in their area of expertise.

Accenture, the company running the challenge, provides solutions and services to more than 40 industries in consulting, digital, strategy, operations, and technology. The previous year’s competition featured 500 startups from around the world, and brought together already established companies dealing in health and life sciences with leading- edge startups.

“Accenture works as a bridge maker that connects fresh ideas from startups with a broad spectrum of stakeholders to help accelerate ideas and drive rapid, low-cost solutions to the industry’s toughest challenges,” said Accenture’s managing director of digital health and innovation services, Brian Kalis. “We look forward to continuing to facilitate open innovation as startups around the globe further demonstrate the momentum of digital innovation in healthcare.”

The challenge has four categories, each covering a different method to improve healthcare. They are:

  • Innovations that give patients, families, or caregivers the correct health services and information at the right time.
  • Innovations focused on improving patient outcomes and supporting care plan adherence.
  • Innovations addressing access to more skilled healthcare workers by remote or under-served populations.
  • Innovations revolving around the security and privacy of personal health information without compromising information sharing.

Every solution to one of the above problems should contain an innovative and scalable solution, potential impact on the chosen area and on patients, and a disruptive business model. Those wishing to apply can do so here.
