Led by Naspers Ventures, Codecademy completed a $30 million Series C round, the company announced early last week. Codecademy, a pioneer in digital learning, plans to use the newly acquired capital to expand internationally and innovate its brand.
“There is a great opportunity in partnering with Naspers to expand our business to deliver a wider breathe of courses in more languages and new geographies to create an education that allows anyone to access economic opportunity,” Codecademy CEO Zach Sims said in its recent press release.
Codecademy offers a platform that allows users to digitally learn how to code, eliminating the need for conventional forms of education. The investment led by Naspers, which regularly partners with leading digital companies, will provide the financial assets, expertise, and support that Codecademy needs to expand its popular digital business.
“The quality of the Codecademy product and the team’s execution has enabled a global footprint today and position’s it well for future expansion,” Larry Illg, CEO of Naspers Ventures stated.
