Despite a rampant pandemic across the U.S., the security industry kept up its pace to offer timely and innovative solutions to threats being made against the government and its agencies, according to Security Today Magazine.  The publication that covers integrated products and technology for the security industry and its editorial website SecurityToday.com released the winners of its 2021 Govies Government Security Awards competition.

“It is apparent that the COVID-19 pandemic had very little affect upon product development and deployment in the government security sector,” said Ralph C. Jensen, editor in chief, Security Today magazine. “We appreciate all the manufacturers who labor diligently to ensure security in the government space, including federal, state, local and Native American jurisdictions.”

Founded in 2009 and renamed in 2011, the Govies Government Security Awards recognizes the best of the best via an independent panel of judges.  Their criteria includes: features, innovation, user friendliness, interoperability, quality, design, market opportunity, impact in the security industry, technical advances, and scalability.

The competition’s multiple categories recognize companies via Platinum and Gold levels that includes for example: Platinum winners: CyberLock Inc. for Access Control Devices/Peripherals, Kingston Technology for their Cyber Defense Solutions and SafeLogic for Encryption.

One Gold winner is Versa Networks, the leader in SASE that provides a comprehensive Integration of Cloud Security, Networking, SD-WAN, Secure Access, and Analytics for Branch, Remote and Home Users.

“It is rewarding for Versa SASE to be recognized with another industry award, this time for the secure network access we deliver to government agencies and their often-remote employees,” said Michael Wood, Chief Marketing Officer for Versa Networks.

Another winner, OnSolve, is a leading critical event management provider for enterprises, SMB organizations, and government entities.  The company received an Award in the Security and Risk Intelligence category.

“This award underlines the important role OnSolve plays in keeping people safe, informed, assured and productive when it matters most,” said OnSolve CEO Mark Herrington. “OnSolve is trusted across government entities at every level. We are honored to receive this award. It validates our continued innovation, focus and dedication to enabling more successful outcomes for our customers.”‘
