This past week the National Diversity Council honored the 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology for 2019 as part of their 15th Annual Diversity and Leadership Conference featuring “A Conversation with President Barack Obama” in Dallas, Texas. The Council is a non-profit that works to promote diversity in the workplace that includes recognizing the achievements of women in tech each year.
The awardees who represent a cross section of women in technology are selected on the basis of multiple criteria including being a top leader in her organization, directly contributing to business growth, acting as an effective role model, and demonstrating a commitment to corporate citizenship. Winners must also work with high integrity and ethical behavior, emphasizing how successful employers excel both in their jobs and personal growth
The Council was founded by Dennis Kennedy who sought to recognize the challenges women face in the technology industry and inspire them to continue pursuing their dreams.
“The 2019 Top 50 Most Powerful Women in technology is a true testament to the abilities of women in the workplace,” said Kennedy, who is also the Chair of the National Diversity Council. “Each year, we are amazed and inspired at the achievements of each awardee. The 2019 class is truly a powerful force.”
