In mid-August XPRIZE announced the nine international teams that will present at XPRIZE’s Visioneers 2016 Summit this fall. Comprised of the best innovators, scientists, and entrepreneurs, the nine teams will display their prize concepts to more than 200 of the best practice CEO’s, innovators, and global leaders, who will then decide which concept is picked as the next global XPRIZE competition.
“The Visioneers Summit challenges these exponential entrepreneurs to solve grand challenges, and leverage both technology and the crowd to drive global impact,” executive chairman and founder of XPRIZE Peter H. Diamandis shared in a recent press release.
Once the winning concept is chosen, XPRIZE organizes multiple competitions that give small teams of entrepreneurs the chance to showcase how their product addresses the concept. XPRIZE, the leading company in constructing and executing innovative prize competitions, then ultimately selects the winning team, awarding them with lucrative prize in the process.
“Today small teams of entrepreneurs, empowered by exponential technologies, can do what was once only possible by governments and large corporations,” Diamandis said.

This year’s summit, which will take place on September 29th, is sponsored by The Roddenberry Foundation, an organization associated with the late Gene Roddenberry, creator of Star Trek. The foundation is committed to supporting social change.
