The seventh annual Women Transforming Technology (WT2) Conference will be held on April 11th and-12th and is open to all registrants to the conference. The event will be virtual for the third straight year.
Sponsored by VMWare, a leading provider of multi-cloud services for all apps, WT2 champions the advancement of women across the technology industry. Speakers for the upcoming conference will address the theme “Elevate Joy”, sharing their professional and personal stories and experiences as well as providing insight on key areas of tech.
The key note speakers are:
- Helen Greiner, CEO of Tertill Corporation, A highly respected expert in Robotics and AI for the US Army and co-founder of iRobot,
- Luvvie Ajayi Jones, CEO, 2-time New York Times Best-Selling Author, Podcast Host & Professional Troublemaker, AweLuv Media, and
- Connie Guglielmo, Editor-in-Chief of CNET, who will moderate the Greiner-Jones conversation.
Betsy Sutter, Executive Vice President, and Chief People Officer at VMware, sees the conference as both educational and inspirational—enabling women to stay excited about technology, their work and their careers.
“Post-pandemic, as we continue to navigate crises around the globe, an important dialogue is taking place on mental health, burnout, and the desire for a renewed sense of purpose in our work,” said Sutter.
The first day will focus on ways for women to pursue career opportunities in tech with speakers and panels discussing career exploration. Sessions on networking, working from home, the imposter syndrome and career advancement strategies are scheduled.
The second day will focus on topics surrounding career choices and support including: the ways that women can pursue and strengthen their career aspirations, how women can be supportive of the success of others in their daily engagements and in longer-term policies and practices, and how women can be influential industry leaders as well as individual contributors.
In addition, a spotlight will be placed on new technologies that are having a positive impact as well as the ways women are overcoming challenges and how best to be constructively engaged in their communities – both personally and professionally.
“We hope this year’s conference provides a community for women to find inspiration and discover excitement again about our work, our technology, and our careers,” said Sutter.
Attendees range from entry to executive level from the broad technology industry, academia, and nonprofit organizations. The goal of the conference is to cultivate a supportive community for women, people from underrepresented communities and allies in the technology industry.
