Imagine being able to locate, start and even control your car from your wrist! Now available in the app store for the Apple Watch and Android Wear, the Viper SmartStart 4.0 enables drivers with virtually any after-market car to speak to or tap on their smartwatch to find, lock, unlock, remotely start their vehicle and even manage alerts! In addition to being able to pop the trunk and hit the panic button, drivers can follow turn-by-turn direction to find their car and even benefit from additional safety features within the app.
“Have your watch guide you to your car. Tap your wrist to unlock your doors. Say the word and your engine starts. Wearable technology has the potential to connect drivers to their cars like never before,” said Frank DeMartin, Senior Vice President of Product Development and Engineering for Viper. “Viper SmartStart 4.0 capitalizes on that potential and offers drivers unprecedented control of their vehicle, whether they’re using a smartwatch or smartphone.”
Named by CTIA as a – Hot for the Holidays’ winner in the “˜connected car’ category during the Super Mobility 2015, the app additionally features smartphone compatibility. This component of the app promotes safe driving by providing speed alerts and emergency roadside assistance. Using CDMA/3G wireless connectivity for nationwide coverage, Viper SmartStart 4.0 also reduces energy consumption in vehicles by up to 30%.
Viper is currently developing a beta version for Android users here and the complete app will be available for download within two weeks.
