Prototyping and testing during product development typically requires considerable resources, something that is a significant hurdle for many startups. Launched in 2016 the Ansys Startup Program has helped over 1000 startups which this challenge, offering them cutting-edge simulation solutions that significantly lowers product development costs.
The Ansys program has doubled in size over the past two years as startups flocked to use the company’s portfolio of affordably-priced simulation solutions. The simulations allow engineers to determine a product’s reliability and performance in a fraction of the time and at a fraction of the cost. This gives startups an advantage as they race in to bring their product to a very competitive market.
“Ansys views simulation as a superpower and, in many cases, startups are the true superheroes,” said Ansys’ chief technology officer, Prith Banerjee. “The Ansys Startup Program champions the next era of startup companies, equipping them with cutting-edge, cost-effective simulation solutions to pioneer new products that push the envelope of what’s possible and quickly scale their businesses.”
Companies like Firefly Aerospace leverage Ansys solutions for the building of their launch vehicles that transport small payloads into space. A mixture of Ansys simulations let them test metallic propulsion, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics. These simulations and many others support a wide variety of industries, everything from automotive to high-tech energy.
