Beginning July 28th the Sports Video Group (SVG) will hold two back-to-back NYC sports conferences examining how technology is shaping the present and future of sports management and the fan experience. Gathering sports innovators from across the globe, attendees will develop an understanding of the newest sports technologies advancing the production of sports content.
Taking place at 230 FIFTH, New York’s largest outdoor rooftop garden and fully enclosed penthouse lounge, SVG and the 2nd Screen Society will host the 2nd Screen Summit Sports conference on July 28, 2015. Understanding that data will drive the advancement of sports content in the years ahead, the conference will educate attendees on the impact that 2nd screen sports will have on the fan experience by engaging the audience with multiplatform sports storytelling.
Along with keynote speaker Clark Pierce, Senior Vice President of FOX Sports, several sports industry leaders will attend to discuss 2nd screen innovations including Christine Anderson, Senior VP of Creative and Digital Media of Sportsvison; Will Carafello, Director of Social Media of the NY Mets; and Jason Thibeault, Principal Technical Evangelist of Limelight Networks.
“In a world where content can be consumed when and where the viewer wants it, demand for real-time access to sports has gone through the roof,†said Jason Thibeault. “Consumers have come to expect flawless delivery, and because sports are so -in the moment,’ there’s very little margin for error. I look forward to participating in these Sports Video Group conferences to share Limelight’s expertise delivering these types of events.â€
Following the 2nd Screen Summit, the SVG Sports Asset Management & Storage Forum will take place at the New York Hilton on July 29. The event will address the latest technological advancements in sports management including an analysis on how codecs and material eXchange Format (MFX) will expand to sustain compatibility with future formats, allowing media asset managers to handle upcoming tech hurdles.
