The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) announced on July 10th the 19 recipients of its Young Investigator (YI) Awards. The awards supply each winner with three years of funding to assist the scientist in researching, developing and delivering therapies for prostate cancer that can be both life-extending and life-saving.

The PCF is the leading philanthropic organization dedicated to the acceleration and funding of prostate cancer research, with over $700 million in funding raised since its founding in 1993. Since 2007, $47 million was invested towards supporting 223 young investors, with $3.6 million invested in 2017 alone.

Chief science officer and executive vice president at PCF, Howard Soule, PhD, talked about the YI awards in a press release, saying that, “We are proud to support this year’s young investigators who are leading projects that will continue to help accelerate the breakthrough discoveries needed to not only further advance therapies, but ultimately defeat prostate cancer once and for all.”
