Working to enhance the global sports ecosystem, HYPE Sports Innovation, a platform that connects thousands of sports innovators together, is launching their first ever Blockchain accelerator for Sports Tech. 10 chosen startups will have the opportunity to spend 14 weeks working on blockchain for sports technology, including attending two bootcamps at major institutions, the Preston Robert Tisch Institute for Global Sport at NYU and the ISDE Higher Institute of Law and Economics in Barcelona.
The Preston Robert Tisch School at NYU offers both an undergraduate and graduate program focusing on Sports Management and teaching students how to incorporate skills into any sports-related business. As the first Global Network University, NYU has multiple campuses worldwide in major cities including London and Paris, providing students the opportunity to conduct business in an international arena and making for a great location to host international startups.
Additional programming includes a personalized mentoring process, weekly classes from top experts, and access to HYPE’s large ecosystem of over 11,000 startups and 40,000 members from other sports related entities. The entire program will culminate in a demo-day where startups will present to partners, investors, and sports clubs and continue growing their network of sports innovators.
“We are very excited about launching the world’s first blockchain accelerator,” said Dr. Ilan Hadar, CEO of HYPE in a press statement. “While blockchain is a relatively new technology, it has limitless potential, particularly when it comes to sports. With the launch of this new accelerator, we will provide the entrepreneurs in our program with unmatched access to our global network of teams, investors and partners, helping turn their startups into real game-changers and market leaders.”
