In a collaborative effort, Wayne Auto Spa, a local, environmentally-friendly car wash in Wayne, NJ, has partnered with Eva’s Village, a non-profit shelter and recovery program to provide more resources of food and produce for the New Jersey shelter.
Wayne Auto Spa owner Rob Burke has often made contributions to the organization prior to the founding of their partnership, donating fresh produce from his own community garden, aptly named the “Victory Garden and Learning Center.” Burke is also a proponent of the green initiative, utilizing recycled water treatments, solar and wind turbine power, and using eco-friendly soaps, for his business.
“Every small business has the ability to make a difference to the environment and to the community; all it takes is some creativity and effort,” says Burke.
Recently, Burke and Eva’s Village Executive Chief Director Darryl Dela Cruz have taken Burke’s effort a step further. In partnership with Burke, Eva’s Village was able to purchase a 26-foot solar Growing Dome greenhouse. With this greenhouse, Eva’s Garden will have access to fresh, healthy, organic produce all year long, creating thousands of meals for their shelter and recovery program.
