To assist early-stage entrepreneurs in developing clean technology startups, the American Renewable Energy Institute has partnered with the National Renewable Energy Lab to launch Startup Green. This new accelerator program will take place in Aspen/Snowmass, Colorado from August 10 – 12
In the midst of the12th annual AREDAY Summit, a gathering of thought leaders on climate and energy solutions, this three-day program will allow current and aspiring entrepreneurs to network while being connected to industry professionals and cleantech investors. Described as a intensive experience, Startup Green’s will provide participants with mentors for assistance with business plan development, skillset expansion and more.
From now until June 19th, submissions will be accepted in six categories: Renewable Energy Generation, Energy Reduction & Systems Efficiency, Mitigation Tactics & Education, Eco-Conscious Commerce & Retail, Carbon Sequestration & Other. Following idea submissions, participants will be placed in – virtual collaboration spaces’ to form teams by the August 1st deadline and network with mentors while AREI and NREL screen submitted ideas.
Each team will have an idea leader who will pitch the business idea to program attendees. Upon completion of the program, select teams will be invited to present their business ideas to potential investors and industry experts.
All Startup Green participants must be registered for the AREDAY Summit that runs from August 8th to the 13th and includes educational sessions, an expo, gala, as well as the recently launched accelerator.
