For anyone interested in starting or growing a business in New Jersey, the state’s website featuring its NJ Business Portal meets key needs. Titled as the “One-Stop Shop for Business”, the portal provides information on how to start up or expand a small business in New Jersey, or how to relocate one to the state.
The Portal provides data, research and guidelines for establishing a new business in New Jersey. It includes information on naming a business, registering a trademark, business taxation, and workers compensation. Other topics that are explained in detail cover licenses and permits, financing and incentives, and workplace laws and regulations. If one is deciding as to whether register their business as a sole proprietorship or an LLC, the NJ Business Portal offers input.
For a small business that is expanding, the NJ Business Action Center can provide some direction on key issues. The center has services which can help an owner make business plans and offer solutions to challenges that may arise. Long-term planning and preventive measures for problems are valuable support services to small business owners who are seeking to grow their business.
If an owner wants to relocate their business to another location, the center offers a listing of sites that are available. In the case of a business seeking to expand overseas, the center will provide assistance in finding a global market. Also, if a business is struck by a disaster or an emergency situation, the center has resources to help recovery.
The NJ Business Action Center is one of four key organizations in the New Jersey Partnership for Action which is led by Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno. The other three are:
Office of Secretary of Higher Education, Choose NJ, and New Jersey Economic Development Authority. The Partnership for Action is devoted to the growth of businesses, the creation of jobs, and pushing more development of New Jersey’s economy.
Also, if more additional help is needed, one can make a call to the NJ Business Action Center at 866-534-7789.
