Health and wellness startup’s support draws from prominent celebrities, top medical experts and prominent investor backing
Healthcare consumers continue to seek alternative ways to manage their health, according to a Gallup study conducted in late 2022. Consumer frustration with their existing healthcare has spurred innovation, in particular, emerging health focused digital platforms such as Lifeforce that have received investor funding.
Lifeforce is a telehealth driven model that lowers cost, reduces friction, and makes personalized health optimization more accessible. The startup was co-founded in 2021 by inspirational speaker Tony Robbins with industry veterans CEO Dugal Bain-Kim, Joel Jackson and Dr. Peter Diamandis.
The platform brings together biomarker data, clinical expertise, and validated needed interventions. Members gain timely and convenient access to the platform’s insights about their health that enables them to take proactive steps with the goal of extending their longevity.
The ambitious Lifeforce team pulled together prominent healthcare and medical experts to create this comprehensive clinically integrated health optimization platform. Inaugural members’ highly satisfying experiences propelled the startup forward with the timely support of investors.
“Eighty-five percent of Lifeforce members report improved quality of life within the first three months of being on a Lifeforce program. We analyze key biomarkers to find out where people are sub-optimal and close those gaps so they can feel stronger, think clearer, and live longer,” said Bain-Kim.
The Lifeforce platform began in M13’s in-house venture studio Launchpad that has a track record in the health and wellness space. Prominent individuals in the areas of health and human performance also came onboard that includes the two co-founders, Robins and physician, engineer Dr. Peter Diamandis, as well as professional tennis legend Serena Williams.
In addition, an advisory board comprised of health and wellness experts helped guide the development of Lifeforce’s model that includes:
- Dr. Mark Hyman, Head of Strategy and Innovation of the Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine;
- Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford, Weight Management Expert and Associate professor at Harvard Medical School;
- Dr. Rudy Tanzi, Harvard Medical School Vice-Chair of Neurology and Massachusetts General Hospital Director and
- Dr. Kathryn Rexrode, Chief of the Division of Women’s Health in the Department of Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
Beyond the technology, members have access to highly trained medical doctors who provide them with their personalized program of: 1) scientifically validated lifestyle adjustments, 2) nutraceuticals, and 3) hormone and peptide therapies customized to each member’s biology and goals.
Plus, members receive regular in-home diagnostic blood tests from registered phlebotomists. The tests cover over 40 biomarkers that are most important to physical, cognitive, sexual, and psychological performance.
Lifeforce also seeks to outcompete other longevity platforms by giving members direct and ongoing access to health coaches and clinicians. Members are also re-tested every three months to track progress and refine the individual’s program. Membership fees start at $349 for an initial baseline assessment and $129 per month that Lifeforce indicates is priced below competitors.
The California-based health startup’s recent $12 million Series A funding positions it to accelerate its growth and expand its offering. The global company is developing data tools that will allow it to further improve the efficacy of its personalized programs, while lowering cost.
Lifeforce’s recent funding will propel it into the lives of many more people. Robbins shares the positive impact that the health optimization platform will have by enabling individuals to better control their health through an approach of preventative healthcare and aging.
“I’ve spent 35 years helping people unlock their potential. Over that time I’ve learned that if you’re not in the driver’s seat of your health, you’re not going to be your most powerful self,” said Robbins. “So much more is possible in life when you decide to be proactive and assert yourself as the CEO of your own health. We launched Lifeforce to make it easier for people to do that.”
