A major step has been taken to support New Jersey women business leaders and entrepreneurs with the announcement that Walker’s Legacy and the Walker’s Legacy Foundation in partnership with the City of Newark, the Newark Community Economic Development Corporation, and Capital One, are launching the Walker’s Legacy PROSPECTUS Business Accelerator in Newark.

The Women Who Enterprise is a free 9-Week entrepreneurship program dedicated to supporting the entrepreneurial endeavors of women-led ventures by providing critical resources for them to scale and be sustainable.  The Accelerator program seeks to fill important gaps such as lack of funding, lack of business knowledge, or a lack of supporting community.

Candidates sought for the program should:

  • Be in business for at least 2-years
  • Have generated $100,000 in revenue for the business
  • Be considering hiring full or part-time employees within the next 12 to 24 months
  • Be committed to the advancement and growth of their business

The in-person entrepreneurship training program will begin in February and applications are now being accepted.  It will offer:

  • Original curriculum
  • Access to industry experts and leaders
  • A dedicated entrepreneurship instructor
  • Opportunity to compete for prize funding in front of investors and business professionals.
