In support of entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership among professional women; the IEEE Cybersecurity Initiative and the Cisco Women in Science and Engineering Group have collaborated to provide two leadership programs for women engineers to be offered within the IEEE Women in Engineering International Leadership Conference from April 23 -26 in San Jose, Calif.

On Saturday, April 25, an event titled “Innovations in Cybersecurity Panel” will feature a panel of leading women in engineering including Terry Benzel – an IEEE member and Deputy Division Director of the Internet and Networked Systems at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering. She, along with Dr. Gabriela Ciocarlie, a computer scientist at SRI International and Dr. Deb Frincke, an IEEE Senior Member and the Director of the Research Directorate in the National Security Agency, will hold a discussion on the most recent strategies in cybersecurity.

The second event in the series is a Hackathon on Sunday, April 26. The Cisco Women in Science and Engineering Group will co-host the event, giving up to 50 attendees an opportunity to interact by developing code and competing to win prizes.

Registration for the Hackathon is limited, but the IEEE Women in Engineering International leadership Conference is open to everyone.
